Domaine de la Petite Soeur

Anjou, FR

Originally from Brittany, Adrien de Mello came to wine through travel and curiosity before settling in Anjou in 2015. He now farms four hectares of vines rooted in schist soils around Saint Aubin de Luigné.

Although the vineyards had been worked organically for some time, Adrien has carried the farming further, earning both organic and biodynamic certifications within just a few years. He works the land by horse and remains closely attuned to the surrounding ecosystem, gathering wild plants such as nettle, comfrey, yarrow, and buckthorn to prepare teas that support vine health.

In the cellar, Adrien’s approach is guided by restraint. Extraction is gentle, allowing nuance to emerge without force. Each variety’s aromatic character is preserved, while the mineral clarity of the schist remains central.

The wines are fresh, fragrant, and quietly invigorating, offering a clear expression of this corner of Anjou shaped by patience, attentiveness, and care at every step.
